Companion Animal Rehabilitation — An Evolution in Patient Care

Speaker: Tara Edwards, DVM, CCRT, Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital

Canine & Feline rehabilitation has provided an evolution in patient care for small animal practices. This presentation will cover the basics of introductory rehabilitation and why it can be successful for many of our day-to-day patients. The modalities, therapeutic exercises, and assistive devices that are used for rehabilitation in both referral settings and general practice will be outlined. How rehabilitation can be applied in for the orthopedic, geriatric, and neurological patient will be discussed. The ability to provide and promote physical well-being to our companion animals is an invaluable asset to any veterinary practice team member.
